Cruising the Knowledge Base
A Guiding Road Map to Trading Success

With a new product, you don't want to stumble in the dark while looking for good opportunities.  You want some sort of road map to follow, some guidance on what trading systems work and with which securities.  Sure, you can "scan" security histories yourself, but it is more powerful to build on the experience of others.  To see opportunities you might not have considered.  To stand on the shoulders of those who came before you.

BioComp Dakota and Dakota R/T both empower you to capitalize on the work of others via a feature called the Knowledge Base.  100's of users so far have elected to send summaries of their results to our server, where we pack them into an Access database and you can download the information to your PC and browse it in Dakota.  The End of Day Dakota raw Knowledge Base has almost 40,000 examples which we've pared down to about 18,000 to make it manageable.  R/T, being only some weeks old, now already has hundreds.

These results stream into our server by the minute.  Here are some that came by just today between 15:05 and 20:46 PM for end-of-day Dakota:

Ticker Points Gained
(or $/share)
Equity Straightness
SP500 1167.55 in 10 yrs 0.9161
SP.LNG 1270.78 in 5 yrs 0.8228
NDX 1844.92 in 5 yrs 0.9447
ND.RAD 2481.62 in 5 yrs 0.9507
YHOO 60.22 in 5 yrs 0.9361
WFC 15.17 in 5 yrs 0.9409
QCOM 62.38 in 5 yrs 0.8131
BLS 39.33 in 5 yrs 0.9650
AMZN 62.09 in 5 yrs 0.9218
QQQQ 66.23 in 5 yrs 0.8702
ES-067 1378.69 in 10 yrs 0.9232

Equity Straightness is the degree to which the equity curve (gains/losses over time) approximate a straight line, indicating the extent of draw-ups and draw-downs.  The higher the value, the better.  1.000 is perfect.  0.70 is fair, 0.80 is good, 0.90 is very good.  What is shown above is only part of the information in the Knowledge Base.  There is also the time period, the trading bot used, its bot's settings and more.  Is everything there to exactly reproduce the system?  No, but it does offer you a road map to follow, some guidance.

Can YOU get results like this with the end-of-day Dakota too?  YES.  While I cannot guarantee future performance, there are so many users getting good results like these, including myself, particularly on index-based securities using a variety of trading systems, I'm quite confident you can as well.  Are there "out of the box" trading systems for everything?  Certainly not, but there is clearly enough opportunity to do well if you draw upon the accomplishments of your efforts and those of the other Knowledge Base contributors.
