Riding Out the Market Volatility? Sharpen Your Tools
It's been tough, rough and very risky to trade lately. Sure, you could make a lot of money if you were to put your fiscal toe in the water just at the right place, just at the right time, but more likely it would get bit off by the sharks in the 70-90 VIX whirlpool. Instead, most traders have smartly cut their positions or are out, waiting for the storm to pass. What do you do while the hurricane rages, besides than twiddle your thumbs and lick any wounds? Use this time to your advantage... Sharpen your tools and build your skills.

Combined with the offer above, this is an excellent time to upgrade or pick up a new tool, such as Dakota or Profit 8 (or both) and learn how to use them effectively so when the markets settle down into a rational range, you are ready to jump in and draw some profits.

Combining the Horsepower of BioComp Dakota and Profit
People are combining Dakota with Profit to create some very nice equity curves. The chart below is from Profit 8, as posted by a customer in our forums. The top panel is price, middle panel is the buy/sell/out signal and the lower panel is the hypothetical gains in your account. In this case, a set of signals created by Dakota are imported into and act as inputs to a Profit 8 system. Profit 8 then "fuses together" the signals into a final set of buy/sell signals.

What is the Risk of Hyper-Inflation?
Hyper-inflation is run-away inflation. You can read about it here at Wikipedia. It's real. It's more common than you may think. There has been at least a dozen cases in this decade and right now in Zimbabwe, at the end of October 2008, inflation was speculated to be approaching 1,000,000,000%. But it doesn't just just happen smaller countries, but historically also Germany, Japan, Israel, China and TWICE already in the USA. Per Wikipedia; "The main cause of hyperinflation is a massive and rapid increase in the amount of money, which is not supported by growth in the output of goods and services." With all the loans to the banks, 100's of billions in bail-out money, the sum of which I'm not sure anyone knows (many trillions of US$), and the Fed loaning money below the current inflation rate, what is the risk of hyper-inflation in the USA? And with the interconnectedness of economies now, globally?

Email me at cmcook@biocompsystems.com, I'll tablulate the responses and report them back in the next issue.

Thanks!
