Optimizing A Flash Column
A customer has a pressurized liquid that contains dissolved gases.  They separate the gas from the liquid using a heated tower, leaving in just the right amount of gas.  The feed is fixed, but the air and fuel to the heater is varied as well as the recycle rate to achieve the desired quality.

Objective
Determine the optimal air and fuel flows to the heater and recycle rate under specified operating conditions to achieve 12% gas in the product coming out of the bottom of the tower.

Results
The % gas can be targeted to
over 99.999% accuracy.
