Virtual Sensor
The Performance Predictor is an
on-line Intellect process that provides quick and accurate predictions of product and process performance
metrics as well as probabilities of product or
machine failures and problems. Performance Predictors take only seconds to
deploy and can predict on millisecond intervals with high
availability. Two versions are available, tracking and non-tracking.
Tracking predictors monitor their accuracy and automatically adapt themselves to
maintain performance. Excellent for compensating for sensor drift,
unmeasured feed stock changes and unknown process disturbances.
Predictors send predictions to
Interpreters for further action and tracking information to Tracking Optimizers.

Tester / Sensor AssuranceTM
The Sensor Assurance Intellect
process is an on-line sensor monitor that compares predicted values of the
sensor to actual. The Sensor Assurance process links with an Interpreter
to detect any significant deviations and issue alerts via email/text paging,
write flags to a data destination or start other Intellect processes. Taking
only moments to deploy, the Sensor Assurance processes can check your sensors
every few milliseconds and let you know if there are problems. Customers use Sensor Assurance
processes to keep an eye on critical measures
of process operations and environmental conformance.
Testers send model/sensor quality
measures to Interpreters for further action.

Interpreter
Interpreters receive predictions
or values from a data source and compares to HighHigh, High, Low and
LowLow thresholds and evokes other components to take action.
Results typically are linked with an email server to issue alerts or to
an optimizer to take or recommend corrective action.
Interpreters receive predictions for
further action and send messages to Optimizers, Event Flaggers and Email
Alerters.

Optimizer
The Optimizer Intellect
process deploys iImprove optimization schemes by smartly inverting predictive
models of product performance or faults. Optimizers can run
either in "open-loop" advisory mode or "closed-loop"
to autonomously take action. Customers use Optimizer processes
to maintain product performance on target or find operating conditions to avoid
anticipated problems.
Optimizers receive tracking
information from Predictors and events from Interpreters and send
optimization solution quality messages to Interpreters for further
action.

Event Flagger
The Event Flagger sends events to
a data destination based on signals from interpreters.
Event Flaggers receive event
information from Interpreters.

 Emailer
/ Alerter
The Email is an Intellect
process that routes email and email-based text pager alerts on a regular basis.
Email Alerters receive event information
from Interpreters.

Heartbeat
The Heartbeat process sends
regular signals to distributed control system to let them know the system is
alive and well.

 Live
OptimizerTM
The Live Optimizer is a
model-less optimizer that uses either genetic algorithm or gradient
"hill-climbing" to directly to seek control setpoints that
maximize, minimize or target Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
