CASE 1: Sarawak, Malaysia
Near Bintulu, a little river town on the Northern
shores of the island of Borneo, is the world's largest oil
and gas processing facility (no, not Saudi Arabia... Malaysia). Process Intellect is providing forward-looking product
performance predictions to operators at over 99% accuracy and
process adjustments "closed-loop" with a Yokogawa DCS and
OSIsoft PI Historian to predict and optimize product performance,
every second, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This solution is
implemented on one (1) stabilization trains as a pilot in 2003, and
with its success, it was rolled out to three (3) additional trains in
2004.
CASE 2: Sabah, Malaysia
In the town of Kota Kinabalu, also on the Northern
shores of the island of Borneo, Process Intellect is boosting oil
well production by optimally injecting the right amount of lift gas
for the prevailing well conditions. This is a "live"
(real-time) system that uses the captured well dynamics to increase
production. It is not the usual manual lift gas re-optimization based on
steady-state well models and lift curve look-up tables. In fact,
since Process Intellect is
using forward-looking well production models, it uses the non-linear
dynamics of the wells to achieve substantial gains in production above
and beyond steady-state optimization. A side benefit is having
well production estimates accurate enough for fiscal allocation for a

CASE 3: Illinois, USA
In the heartland of the United
States, Process Intellect is optimizing the refining of corn into
sugars, starches and syrups, increasing quality, repeatability and
steering operations to final product on-target with specifications.
CASE 4: California, USA
In Northern Los Angeles sits a facility few know
about. This location has produced some of the most intelligent
and sophisticated anti-tank weapons known to man. The complexity
of these products contributed to poor production yields. With Process
Intellect, the customer was able to increase 1st pass quality results
from 40% to 80% to eventually 100% across 50+ product properties
simultaneously.
